On the shores of Lake Elsinore, a battle is brewing. And if you think you’ve got the heart and soul of a true gladiator, you are invited to join the fray.

The 1st Annual Gladiator Mud Run is open to any Southwest Riverside resident who isn’t afraid to get a little dirty for a good cause. The event is set to get underway on Sept. 25.

The 5K race promises to challenge participants’ mental toughness, physical stamina and fitness in the most unsavory elements of mud, sun, water and slime.

Once you’ve made it through the obstacle course, celebrate with friends, food, live music and a cold one.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Riverside County. Businesses and anyone looking for a great team-building exercise are welcome.

Prizes will be awarded to best costume and top division winners, both male and female. A trophy will be awarded to the business or organization with the most participants.

Think you’ve got it in you? Are you ready to release the gladiator within? Don’t delay  – registration is underway and is expected to fill up fast.
