Fire burns 10 acres near the Getty Center in Los Angeles County

A fire burned 10 acres of brush today near the Getty Center before being put out, a city fire official said.

The fire was reported at 5:01 p.m. along the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Getty Center Drive, said Devin Gales of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No structures were damaged, although one in Bel Air Estates was being protected at one point.

Gales said water-dropping helicopters helped 271 firefighters douse the fire by 7:30 p.m., he said.

No injuries were reported.
