Pedestrian killed on Hwy 371 in Anza

An unidentified man was killed when he got hit by a sedan on a dark section of Highway 371 near Anza today.

The man, who was between 40-60 years old, was hit at 3:04 a.m. about a quarter mile east of Howard Road in Anza. He died at the scene at 3:22 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s coroner.

Whether the driver cooperated with investigators or is suspected of wrongdoing was unavailable, according to the CHP. An investigation into the man’s identity and the cause of the crash is ongoing.
