A man who attacked a woman who was taking her young daughter on a hike near Mount Rubidoux remained at large today, and police asked for the public’s help tracking him down.
The attack occurred Saturday on a hiking and cycling trail leading up the mountain. The 24-year-old victim and her daughter were hiking when the suspect grabbed the woman, Riverside police Sgt. Wayne Ramaekers said.
The woman fought the man off, and he fled on a foot-powered scooter, Ramaekers said.
The suspect was a clean shaven male in his late teens to early 20s, 5-feet-9 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a dark blue shirt, light blue board shorts and black tennis shoes, the sergeant said.
Ramaekers asked anybody with information to call Detective Phil Fernandez at 951-353-7121.

I run this trail every so often. What time of the day did the attack take place?
