Hikers rescued from Tahquitz Rock in Idyllwild

Two Santa Cruz mountain climbers were rescued after being stranded for several hours overnight on Tahquitz Rock in Idyllwild’s Humber Park, authorities said.

Members of the Riverside County Mountain Rescue Unit arrived in the area shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday and were able to return the hikers to safety by early Monday morning, Sgt. Ron Lawler said.

The hikers were found uninjured and did not require medical attention, Lawler said.
