Hit and run driver in Temecula causes multiple accidents, injures passenger

A hit-and-run driver fleeing an accident caused two more, including one that injured his own passenger, a Riverside County sheriff’s Investigator said.

The series of crashes occurred on Pechanga Parkway near Temecula Parkway about 11 p.m. Saturday, said Investigator Matt Diaz.

The driver hit one car, then rear-ended another car while trying to get away, Diaz said. The second collision caused the hit-and-run car to spin into oncoming traffic where it was struck, he said.

The passenger of the hit-and-run car was unconscious when taken to a Rancho Springs hospital, where his or her condition was unavailable, Diaz said.
