Second tunnel found crossing the U.S. and Mexico border; some pot found

Four people were arrested and a “significant amount” of marijuana was recovered in the discovery of the second drug tunnel crossing the United States and Mexico borders this month, authorities said.

The underground tunnel discovered Wednesday runs a half-mile from a residence in Tijuana to a warehouse in Otay Mesa, authorities said.

The San Diego Tunnel Task Force is conducting an investigation of the tunnel. The task force includes agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Mexican military is also cooperating in the investigation.

A 600-yard-long tunnel linking warehouses in Otay Mesa and Tijuana was discovered Nov. 2.
