Escondido man arrested after robbery of Fallbrook bank

An Escondido man was jailed today on suspicion of robbing a Fallbrook bank last week.

Deputies and members of a fugitive task force arrested John Charles O’Donnell, 30, at a Vista motel this morning, sheriff’s Lt. Mike Barnett said.

O’Donnell allegedly used a demand note to rob a Chase Bank branch office in the 1000 block of South Mission Road about 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 9. Tipsters identified him as the suspected bandit from surveillance photos of the heist publicized by local news agencies, according to Barnett.

O’Donnell was booked into Vista Jail on suspicion of bank robbery.
