Students and families are invited to the 2010-2011 Chaparral High School Financial Aid Workshop Jan. 6.
The 90-minute event, which is being put on by the Chaparral Counseling Department, starts at 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. All 12th-grade students and their parents are invited.
The Workshop speaker will be Donna San Miguel, financial aid advisor at California State University, San Marcos.
This is an important informational evening to help students and their families learn about the financial-aid process for students planning to attend college next year, whether it is a four-year, community, or technical college, according to a news release.
The topics covered will be the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), on-line filing process for the FAFSA, Student Aid Report (SAR), Expected Family Contribution (EFC), federal loan programs, and the Cal Grant Program.
