Barricades have been placed on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Parker Road at Castaic, as the freeway is now closed over the Grapevine until further notice, due to ice and blowing snow.

Interstate 5 has been closed over the Grapevine, after a spate of minor crashes caused by blowing snow, low visibility and slick pavement.
CHP Bakersfield officers have closed the freeway to northbound traffic at Smokey Bear Road, and are sending that traffic back towards Los Angeles.
The best detour, using state routes 14 and 58 through Lancaster and Mojave, is open at this time. Snow is falling on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, but not sticking, according to the latest CHP reports.
