Ill elderly woman rescued by helicopter off San Diego County mountain

An elderly woman in distress was hoisted on a helicopter and rescued from Cowles Mountain today, San Diego Fire Rescue officials said.

Rescue officers received a call around 10:30 a.m. requesting help for a 60-year-old woman at the top of Cowles Mountain, in the high point in Mission Trails Regional Park between Lake Murray and Santee.

A rescue crew air lifted the woman and transferred her to a nearby landing zone where she was transported to a hospital.

No further details were released about the woman’s condition.

    ELDERLY!!! Come on now. Never has a 60 year old been considered elderly, but especially not in this day and age. Most 60 year olds are active, vital, attractive people who are barely senior citizens. Who wrote this article? A teenager, perhaps. I’m glad the woman was rescued, but she in NOT elderly.
