Three people were injured — one critically — in a two- car collision today on Interstate 15 south of Corona.
The accident was reported shortly after 10 a.m. on the northbound 15, near Temescal Canyon Road. One vehicle overturned in the crash, trapping the driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Riverside County firefighters spent about 30 minutes prying the person out of the wreckage, said fire department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson. The victim, who was not immediately identified, was hospitalized for extensive injuries, she said.
Two other people had minor injuries. One was taken to a hospital; the other declined treatment, Hendrickson said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
