The California Highway Patrol is releasing details of a crash in Mead Valley in which a Perris child was killed and several others injured.
About 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Perris resident Ivan Gomez, 20, was driving a 1995 Jeep Wrangler north on Haines Street south of Kinney Street at between 35 and 40 mph in Mead Valley, the CHP said in a new release.
Perris resident Megan Galvan, 19, was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry, east on Kinney Street at between 35 and 40 mph and failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of Kinney and Haines, the CHP said. The front of the Toyota struck the left side of the Jeep and the force of the impact caused the Jeep to travel out of control to strike a block wall.
The Jeep overturned causing its three rear passengers to be ejected, the CHP said.

This story is just too familiar, a child ejected from the family car she felt safe in. My heart goes out to the family.

I don’t think of her as gone away-
her journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets-
this earth is only one. . .
