The Los Angeles Dodgers are encouraging fans to car pool or take public transportation to Dodger Stadium and arrive early for today’s Opening Day game against the World Series champion San Francisco Giants to avoid congestion.
Opening Day draws more cars than usual for a sold-out game, as more fans than usual drive alone, coming from their offices to Dodger Stadium.
The Dodger Express Bus again will run from Union Station to Dodger Stadium for every game this season. The fare is free for ticket holders.
The express will operate from the Patsaouras Bus Plaza adjacent to the east portal of Union Station and continue to Dodger Stadium via Sunset Boulevard and Cesar Chavez Avenue.
Passengers will be dropped off and picked up in the Dodgers parking lot behind left-center field.
The auto gates will open at 1 p.m. and the stadium gates at 1:30 p.m. for the game scheduled to begin slightly after 5 p.m.
