Diamond Club Restaurant at Lake Elsinore Storm offers Bypass Lane

The Lake Elsinore Diamond, home to the Class A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, the Lake Elsinore Storm, is now offering Bypass Lane, a convenient solution for ordering food and beverages straight from your seat.

The ballpark is implementing Bypass to enhance the fan experience by allowing patrons to skip time-consuming concession lines. Bypass will go live at the Lake Elsinore Diamond on Thursday for Opening Day and will be available for use at the stadium’s premier game-watching venue and restaurant, the Diamond Club.

Guests of The Diamond Club Restaurant are invited to use Bypass by downloading the mobile iPhone or Android app or navigating to www.BypassLane.com on their smartphones (Android, Blackberry OS6, Dell mobile devices, iPhone, Palm mobile devices among others). Through Bypass, fans are given the opportunity to view full food and drink menus of select concessions stands in the vicinity of their seats and are able to place orders by paying with a credit card using Bypass’ secure payment platform. When the order is ready for pickup, a text message is sent to the fan from the nearest Bypass Lane, helping them get back to their seat in short order.

“When Bypass Lane approached us with this idea, we knew that it was going to be a no-brainer.” says Arjun Suresh, General Manager of Storm Catering. “The fans are going to be excited about Bypass Lane and eventually we want to offer this in our concession stands as well. As an avid baseball fan myself, I know it’s no fun waiting in line and this will significantly contribute towards fan experience.”

Bypass, an Austin, Texas-based company, is the innovative team behind the ground-breaking mobile technology that allows fans to order and pay for food, drinks and souvenirs on their smartphones. In addition to servicing the fans, Bypass allows teams and venues to streamline the ordering process and add point of sale opportunities. A recent case study on the performance of this technology suggests Bypass cuts the average concession worker processing time from more than 77 seconds to 15-40 seconds.

“The Bypass Lane team is excited to be partnering with the Lake Elsinore Storm,” said Bypass Lane President Brandon Lloyd said. “We’re passionate about the fan experience and we believe venues such as The Diamond Stadium will appreciate what our technology will do to ensure attendees no longer have

to choose between watching the game and waiting in long concession lines. We look forward to working with the Lake Elsinore Storm and hope to continue to announce additional venues across the nation in 2011.”

Bypass has steadily gained traction and is now available in a wide variety of sports venues throughout Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, the NBA, NHL, and the collegiate ranks. Aside from the Lake Elsinore Storm, Bypass’ current partners also include the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, and the University of Texas, among others.

Fans of Lake Elsinore Storm are encouraged to visit www.BypassLane.com or download the iPhone or Android app to register for their free account in advance of the game.
