Law enforcement agencies throughout Riverside county are scheduled to hold a ceremony today memorializing law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

The Peace Officers’ Memorial Day Observance is scheduled to be held at the “Safe in His Arms” memorial statue at 4102 Orange St. in Riverside.
Riverside Police officer Ryan Bonaminio, killed in November while pursuing a suspected big rig thief, is on the list of names to be recognized
during the ceremony, Officer Jolynn Turner said.
Turner said the memorial will reach as far back as the 19th century, with Special Deputy Frank Hamilton, killed by gunshot in 1895, set to be
honored.
The Riverside Board of Supervisors will also designate May 2011“National Peace Officer Memorial Month,” according to their May 10 agenda.
