An autopsy Wednesday on the body of Jonas Gregory Bevacqua, co-founder of the influential Irvine-based hip-hop clothing company LRG, was inconclusive, and further testing will be done, a sheriff’s official said.
The body of the 33-year-old Bevacqua was found about 8 p.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Bern Drive in Laguna Beach, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“The (autopsy) results were inconclusive and the cause of death is pending further investigation, which can include toxicological and serological studies,” Amormino said.
Those tests could take six to eight weeks to complete, he said.
Robert Wright, LRG’s chief executive and company co-founder, and Charlie Moothart, another co-founder, called Bevacqua an icon who was visionary.
“Jonas was a star who burned brightly in the sky and who is gone far too soon,” Wright and Moothart said on the company’s web page.
“There is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. He will always be loved and missed by his friends, family, and all those he inspired. He is in a better place and will be watching over us always.”
