San Diego Padres second baseman Orlando Hudson will play a third and final day on Friday with the Lake Elsinore Storm, home of mascot Thunder the Dog, for his recent rehab assignment.
Hudson, a.k.a. O-Dog, was placed on the 15-day DL for a left groin strain. He began his Class A rehab assignment with the Storm on Wednesday.
Hudson went 0 for 2 with two walks on Wednesday against the Lancaster JetHawks. On Thursday, Hudson was 1 for 2 with a single, walk and a stolen base against the High Desert Mavericks.
Hudson previously had a rehab stint with the Storm on May 18 thanks to a strained right hamstring.
Friday’s game against the High Desert Mavericks, which will include fireworks, kicks off at 7:05 p.m. Hudson is scheduled to play eight innings.
