SigAlert issued for I-215 in Riverside after five-vehicle collision

A five-vehicle collision blocked traffic on northbound Interstate 215 in Riverside this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at 2:12 p.m. south of Columbia Avenue and blocked all but the No. 1 lane, prompting the CHP to issue a SigAlert, but there was no immediate word on whether anyone was hurt.

The CHP and a Riverside fire crew were sent to the scene.
