A school bus, sport utility vehicle and van collided on Interstate 215 in Riverside this afternoon, leaving an occupant of one vehicle injured but not aboard the bus, which was not transporting students at the time of the crash.
The accident happened around 1:50 p.m. on the northbound side of the 215, near the Alessandro Boulevard exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A red Ford Expedition, blue Toyota van and yellow bus were involved in the crash on the right side of the freeway, the CHP said.
The driver of the Expedition suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Riverside hospital.
The far right lane of the freeway was blocked because of the crash, snarling traffic.
