What’s that noise? Camp Pendleton conducting live-fire training Saturday

Oceanside residents may hear the sound of explosions for several days thanks to artillery training that begins Saturday at Camp Pendleton, a base representative announced.

Marine artillery units are scheduled to conduct 24-hour live-fire training from Saturday morning through Tuesday night at the Marine base.

The explosions can be heard as far as 50 miles away, the base announcement said.
