Two fires are sending thick plumes of smoke over Southwest Riverside County Monday afternoon and threatening homes.
Keller Fire
The 25-acre Keller Fire has forced the evacuation of 10 homes along the Murrieta city border. More than 10o firefighters and two air tankers are trying to contain the fire that is heading north.
The fire started at 1 p.m. off of Keller and Baxter roads. The fire quickly spread north closing off roads in the area.

Pala Fire
A 300-acre fire is heading from San Diego County toward Riverside County.
The fire started after a car crashed, sheared off a fire hydrant and caused some power lines to fall into the water from the broken hydrant. The fire started at Pala Temecula Road and Moro Road at 10:45 a.m. and quickly spread.
San Diego County Fire Department has evacuated Rancho Heights and the area around Magee Road.
