Traffic flow along the southbound I-15 in Escondido is flowing again after being stopped for about two hours Friday morning after a multiple vehicle collision.

Motorists in traffic along the southbound I-15 after a multiple-vehicle collision are starting to drive the wrong way on the northbound Old 395 offramp heading southbound due to the back up.

A multiple vehicle collision Friday morning along the southbound Interstate 15 heading out of the Temecula and Fallbrook area and into Escondido has traffic backed up for at least seven miles.

The crash was reported around 8:20 a.m. at southbound Lawrence Welk Drive and involved six vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. Two of the vehicles reportedly overturned then landed on their wheels.
Traffic along the I-15 crawled for more than 25 minutes as authorities responded to the crash. The number 2,3 and 4 lanes along the freeway were closed due to vehicles blocking the lanes from the crash. Motorists stuck in the traffic could be seen getting out of their vehicles during the back up, which trailed back to Old Highway 395.
