“Twilight” fans will want to be out in force when teen star Booboo Stewart, 17, comes to Temecula to receive the “Rising Star Award” at the 17th annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival on Sept. 18 at the Black Tie Awards Gala at the Pechanga Resort & Casino.
The festival runs from Sept. 14-18.
Stewart grabbed the global spotlight with his role as Seth Clearwater in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and will reprise his role in the highly anticipated “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” Parts 1 & 2.
“Mr. Stewart is an extremely gifted young talent. What he has accomplished to date at such a young age is remarkable. We are delighted to present The TVIFF’s Rising Star Award to Booboo Stewart,” said festival director Jo Moulton.
Past young TVIFF award recipients include Kay Panabaker, Steve Rushton, Lucas Grabeel and Matthew Underwood.
Stewart will be honored along with legendary Film Director Peter Bogdanovich, Academy Award nominated Actress Virginia Madsen, Hollywood Icon Connie Stevens, Writer Producer Director Oren Peli of Paranormal Activity fame, legendary Music Producer Russ Regan, DVD and Blu Ray Manufacturing Technology pioneer Erick Hansen and highly sought after Film Orchestrator and Arranger Pete Anthony.
Stewart’s recent television appearances include roles on “Good Luck Charlie,” “CSI:Miami” and R.L. Stein’s “The Haunting Hour.”
Before the “Twilight Saga” movies, Booboo was best known as a member of the Walt Disney Records recording group “T-Squad” and toured with The Cheetah Girls, The Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus.
