A 14-year-old Hemet boy died in Perris from a gunshot wound, authorities said.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 1700 block of Glenview Drive at 12:07 a.m., according to sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Torrenti.
“When the officers arrived, they located a male juvenile, lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound,” Torrenti said.
Paramedics were called, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:22 a.m., the coroner’s office said.
The boy’s identity was withheld, Torrenti said.
