Gunman holds up East Hemet pizzeria

Deputies are looking for a lone gunman who robbed a Pizza Hut restaurant in East Hemet, the sheriff’s department said.

The robbery was reported at 9:46 p.m. Friday night at the Pizza Hut at 25795 Stanford Street, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Himmelberg.

“A lone suspect entered the business with a handgun and demanded money from the cash register,” Himmelberg said. “The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.”

He did not give a description of the suspect.

The sheriff’s department asked anyone with information about the case to call the Hemet station at 951-791-3400.
