Alonzo King LINES Ballet offers free master class to local dancers

Alonzo King LINES Ballet, performing next weekend at Old Town Temecula Community Theater, is offering 30 local dancers a chance to learn from some of the best during a free dance session.

Led by ballet master Arturo Fernandez, the class will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 29 in the theater’s dance studio, 42051 Main St. in Old Town Temecula.

The class is open to the first 30 dancers to sign up. Interested dancers should call 866-653-8696.

San Francisco-based Alonzo King LINES Ballet will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29 at the theater. The contemporary ballet company is part of the theater’s “Temecula Presents” 2011/12 lineup.

The theater’s dance scholar-in-residence Lori Craig Torok will provide opening remarks and an introduction at 7:40 each night. A Q&A session with Fernandez will follow each performance.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students and children, available online.
