Costumed representatives from local business gathered today for the 2011 Temecula Chamber Blitz — a fun two-day event designed to increase membership by encouraging members to spread the word about the advantages of partnering with the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“There’s not enough people out there who know how to get excited,” said Chamber Connect speaker and entertainer Jimmy Cusano, adding that negativity only fuels the gloomy economic landscape.

Cusano, who speaks to chamber organizations throughout the country, building excitement and boosting memberships, said that a city’s economic outlook dramatically improves when its local chamber of commerce thrives.

“Chambers of commerce are built to bring business people together,” Cusano said, urging members to seek new businesses and bring them to the fold.

“Temecula has always been among the top chambers in California for the last 20 years. This is not a dial-for-dollars membership program. This is about getting business leaders jacked up about their own town,” Cusano said.

Among the benefits of chamber membership Cusano cited was the organization’s commitment to community and economic development, networking opportunities and marketing potential for local businesses.

The Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce currently holds an active membership of roughly 1,000 businesses, offering opportunities for local business owners to connect and be seen with monthly networking breakfasts, coffee connections, power networking workshops, mixers and more.

Additionally, members enjoy a free business listing and website link on the Chamber’s website, as well as sponsorship opportunities and lobby spotlights where businesses have a dedicated display in the Chamber lobby.

Cusano said: “If you’re employed in this county, then you should care about what happens in this city.”
