Hosted by the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association, the 21st Annual Harvest Celebration Barrel Tasting Weekend is planned from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 5-6 beginning at Callaway Vineyards & Winery.

“For the wineries, this (event) is about celebrating a long harvest. And it has been long harvest this year. There is still work ahead for them, in the cellar, bottling and barreling, but this is a time for the wineries to celebrate and share the fruits of their labor. It’s a (moment of) deep exhalation,” said Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association Executive Director Peggy Evans.

The festivities offer guests an all-access passport to Temecula Wine Country where they can visit and sample wines from all 34 wineries, enjoy appetizing food pairings, and relax and mingle among the autumn vineyards.

“I think people enjoy the opportunity to come out and spend the day,” Evans said. “The self-guided tour lets you choose to visit all 34 wineries. Most folks sit down and make their own trail. Some prefer to visit just the bigger wineries. Others stick to maybe five of their favorites. But, many will take the chance to visit newer, smaller wineries,” she said, adding that guests visit an average of 10 wineries.

Evans said that the popular event usually draws anywhere from 1,200 to 1,400 guests each year to harvest festivities held in both November and March.

Cost for a two-day ticket is $99, Sunday only is $69 for resident and $79 for non-resident, and designated driver tickets are $59, food only.

Guests will also get a chance to vote for their favorite winery scarecrow at each stop and one lucky fan will win tickets to Temecula Valley’s next passport event.

Transportation and accommodation packages are available.

Tickets can be purchased online at temeculawines.org or by calling 800-801-9463.
