H&M, part of a flurry of new stores arriving at the Promenade Temecula, is set to open to the public at noon Thursday.
The debut will include grand opening specials and giveaways, including “Access to Fashion Passes” valued from $10 to $300 to be distributed to the first 100 customers in line.
The two-story, 22,000-square-foot retail store will include an escalator connecting women’s and men’s fashions on the bottom level to children’s fashion on the second floor.
“They really lead with price point,” said Kym Espinosa, the mall’s marketing director. “The price points are really compelling, and (they have) great fashion-forward looks. It’s really going to be a home run.”
Espinosa said the store will include grand opening values on specific items, such as children’s holiday dresses starting at $5.
The introduction of the trendy retail store joins the recent openings of Teavana tea specialty shop and MAC Cosmetics, both of which opened the weekend of Nov. 4. Charming Charlie, a fashion accessory boutique, also recently opened its doors. And G by Guess should be ready before Black Friday, Espinosa said.
“I would say they’re probably four or five days away (from opening),” she said.
The additions of stores like H&M, MAC and Guess are aimed at filling in some needs to help further brand the shopping center, Espinosa said.
“We’re really becoming a destination shopping center that has the brands that are so compelling that people will drive from North County and San Diego,” she said.
Name-brand retailers like Pottery Barn and Coach, as well as the new stores, are drawing more people locally and regionally, she said.
“It’s a nice trip, even if you’re a little further out,” she said.
Espinosa added that the mall is dedicated to creating an enjoyable shopping experience with fun events, like its participation in the worldwide Fashion’s Night Out and last weekend’s tree lighting ceremony, in addition providing name-brand stores with accessible price points for families.
Black Friday looks green
Espinosa said the mall is expecting an active Black Friday for its department stores and individual retailers, of which many will be open at midnight for shoppers. The mall will open its doors for those early Black Friday shoppers at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, Espinoza said.
“It’s going to be a great holiday season here,” Espinoza said. “Everyone’s going to love to shop again.”
Espinosa said she’s noticed more holiday advertising, in general, this year. And many businesses at or around the mall seem to feel more positive about the economic climate of this holiday season. She said Starbucks in the mall will be opening at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving for shoppers and retail employees. And even PF Chang’s is set to open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday.
“I think everyone just wants to get back into the spirit and excitement of the holidays,” she said. I think we’re going to see some really positive economic gains this year overall. It’s going to be a good year.
“Christmas is here.”
Espinosa said the mall will release its Black Friday shopping guide on Facebook at midnight on Black Friday. It will be a separate tab that can be viewed via shoppers’ smartphones.
Helping further the holiday spirit, the mall is giving away a 2012 Chevy Camero convertible. Registration is available on the mall’s website. Seven semifinalists will be selected. The winner will be announced following a drawing on Dec. 22.
“So they will have that car to put under their tree,” she said.
The Promenade Temecula is located at 40820 Winchester Road. It will be closed during the day on Thanksgiving as well as Christmas day. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. Holiday hours begin Nov. 25.
