One thing is certain — Wilson Creek Winery’s fundraising dinner for a Temecula man who suffered a fractured neck and spine in an accident will be no ordinary affair.

Instead, the Nov. 30 event held in support of Jim Hermann will feature a star-studded night of magic and laughs with some of the entertainment industry’s fastest rising stars.

“When I found out it was for a great cause, I was on board,” said comedian Willie Barcena.

Barcena is working the gig in between his frequent appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and upcoming work on a Showtime special and performances throughout the region, including a Comedy Club appearance at Pechanga Resort & Casino.

“The (Wilson Creek Winery) show is going to be a lot like what you might see me perform on “Jay Leno” — pretty clean,” Barcena said.

Also performing will be Hollywood’s popular The Magic Castle magicians Handsome Jack and Rob Zabrecky, who each felt drawn to the Hermann family’s need for support.

“I know (Jim’s) situation and when I learned about this cause, I was all for it,” Handsome Jack said, adding that he works to infuse comedy into his magic act.

Zabrecky, who performs magic through an “unusual, strange, irreverant’ character, said he plans to manage the seriousness of the evening by suspending the audience’s imagination through mind-bending illusions.

Temecula-based comedian Kevin Millard, who will also perform live at the event said: “This is the whole reason I got into comedy — to bring laughter into (tough situations). I was glad to be asked to be a part of it.”

Pechanga Resort & Casino’s popular Comedy Club host Leonard Holloway, who supports local organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County with his stand-up routines, has signed on to emcee the evening.

Holloway said: “Temecula is such a tight-knit community. When I learned about the Hermann family, I was honored to be asked to take part (in the fundraising event). I am glad to do whatever I can do to help them.”

The event is open to the public from 7 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Wilson Creek Winery, located at 35960 Rancho California Road in Temecula.
