Temecula: Would-be burglar gets away after being interrupted by homeowner

A would-be burglar who entered a residence in an unincorporated area of Temecula by breaking out a rear window, was caught in the act by the homeowner but was able to get away, the sheriff’s department reported today.

The suspect fled the house in the 35000 block of Monte De Oro at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, leaving behind some heavy items he was trying to steal, sheriff’s Sgt. Geoff Green. It was unclear what, if anything, the suspect took with him.

“A possible suspect vehicle was seen in the area just before the homeowner arrived,” Green said. “It was described as a white, full-sized SUV.”

Deputies encouraged anyone with information about the incident to call the Southwest station at 951-696-3000.
