Anaheim: Train hits auto, driver killed

A driver was killed this morning when a BNSF Railway freight train hit a car in Anaheim, police said.

The eastbound train hit the car about 8 a.m. near Tustin and Orangethorpe avenues, said Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn.

A person believed to have been the car’s sole occupant died at the scene, Dunn said.

Orangethorpe Avenue was closed between Tustin Avenue and Van Buren Street while an investigation was continuing, Dunn said.
