Palm Desert: Charges considered for man suspected of attempted rape

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office was determining today whether to file charges against a Palm Desert man who bailed out of jail following an alleged attempted rape.

Kenneth Dean Anderson, 55, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted rape, penetration with a foreign object by force and brandishing a firearm.

He was booked at the Indio jail and posted a $50,000 bond, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Michael Judes said.

The case was under review by the District Attorney’s Office today, spokesman John Hall said.

On Sunday, someone reported an attempted rape in the 73000 block of Guadalupe Avenue, Judes said. Deputy Angel Ramos said authorities were not releasing any more information about the incident to protect the investigation.
