Owner of Duke’s Steakhouse in Hemet arrested

The owner of a Hemet restaurant suspected of sexually assaulting multiple women who worked for him was arrested Tuesday.

Mouris Ghipriel, 55, was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of sexual penetration with force, assault with intent to rape, kidnapping with intent to rape, sexual battery and false imprisonment.

Ghipriel is being held in lieu of $1 million.

According to Hemet police Lt. Duane Wisehart, former employees of Duke’s Steakhouse, 360 N. San Jacinto St., made allegations against the restaurateur nearly two months ago, triggering an investigation that culminated in Ghipriel being arrested by detectives outside his Murrieta home Tuesday.

A search warrant also was executed at the restaurant.

“There is more than one victim in the case, and investigators feel there could be more,” Wisehart said.

Wisehart would not disclose any details regarding the alleged assaults.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Hemet police at 951-765-2400.

I’ve gone and worked at Dukes with the owner for the past four year. I have seen nothing but kindness from his man. He is a family man who I know personally care for all his employees equals. These “clams” are a result of people who dislike the owner for his ability to idenitfy theft and ill work habits within the resturant atmosphere. It is nothing more then a personal attack on the owner to try and discredit his morality and being. I recommend everyone who reads this article to think about the how the employees are possibly trying to close out the restaurant and force a successful business man who does nothing but serve his community in a positive manner to lose everything he has as revenge for him firing them, based on their ill actions within the work place. As I said before I know this man very well and for a long time not only are these allegations outrageous they are down right insulting.

Bob, I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you don’t actually know what this man would or wouldn’t do when you’re not there, and that if you’re wrong about this, you’re causing a great deal of unnecessary harm to the victims.
