A search was under way today for a driver whose vehicle struck a man crossing a Temecula street and then fled the scene.
The hit-and-run occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Monday at Rancho California and Ynez roads, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Robert Kemp, 28, and two male friends were crossing Rancho California, walking in the eastbound lanes, when a the vehicle struck Kemp, sheriff’s officials said.
The Hemet man suffered head trauma but is expected to survive.
His companions were not injured.
A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.
The suspect is wanted for felony hit-and-run. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the sheriff’s Temecula Station at 951-696-3000.
