A 19-year-old woman suspected of carrying out an identity theft scam in Perris and Riverside was behind bars today.
Chelsea Brianna Tucker was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of check fraud, burglary, receiving stolen property and ID theft. She’s being held in lieu of $20,000 bail at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
Tucker’s friend, Eric Ryan Munk, 36, was also arrested for alleged parole violations and is being held without bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.
According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McConnell, Riverside police and sheriff’s investigators began looking into Tucker’s activities
following several reports that she had allegedly made fraudulent purchases using other people’s personal information.
The circumstances behind the alleged thefts were not disclosed.
Investigators tracked Tucker to a house at 3862 Millbrae Terrace in Perris, where she and Munk were taken into custody without incident on Tuesday afternoon.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call sheriff’s Investigator Sam Flores at 951-210-1000.
