Quick Bits: Top reader comments of the week

Here is what a few of our SWRNN readers had to say this week:

On Murder-suicide victims at Hemet courthouse identified

mudflap: “The “leaders” of Hemet have run the city into the ground. They need to be run out of town ASAP if this city will ever stand a chance of turning around.”

On Perris: Police shoot, kill suicidal man who charged officers with knife

Cindy: “The Parents of Mark Anthony Trujillo called 911 to get their son medical attention, what ever happen to protecting the citizens??? instead the parents got thrown out of their own home, and minutes later their son had been shot by the Sheriffs department…Justice needs to be served….at the end the truth should be release….”

On Stuck accelerator blamed in traffic collision at Pechanga, police investigate

JB: “Elderly people seem to have the darnedest luck with these “stuck accelerators.”

On Stuck accelerator blamed in traffic collision at Pechanga, police investigate

Dave Keays: “At times like that your head doesn’t work right. In “fight or flight” panic we humans can miss the obvious. It is human nature, pure and simple. When I was an assistant auto-mechanic I forgot to pump the brakes after changing the pads. I hit reverse with no brake fluid in the cylinders so I just navigated out of the garage without worrying about what was next. I cleared the door and braced to hit the back wall. Luckily the mechanic yelled “turn it off”. If it wasn’t for that yell I would have missed the obvious and crashed a customer’s BMW into a brick wall. I’ll ignore the implied insults to “elderly people”.”

On Lake Elsinore: Skateboarder struck, killed; driver flees the scene

Bobbi: “There are skate boarders in my area that wear all black at night where there are few street lights. Cannot tell how many times someone came from the dark and appeared in front of my car. They can’t steer and I can’t see them on streets without lights.”
