The Broadway San Diego 2012-13 season will kick off March 27 with “Rock of Ages!” a five-time Tony Award-nominated musical featuring hits from the 1970s and ’80s, Nederlander of San Diego announced. 
The season will also feature the launch of national tours of “Jekyll & Hyde” on Oct. 2 and “Chicago,” starring Christie Brinkley, on May 8, 2013.
It is the first time two national shows will start in San Diego in the same season, according to Nederlander.
Other planned stage shows are “Peter Pan” with Cathy Rigby, “La Cage Aux Faux” starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber. “Billy Elliott: The Musical,” “American Idiot” and “Sister Act.”
Also on tap are performances by Rain, The Beatles tribute group, the popular musical “Wicked,” “Les Miserables.” “The Addams Family” and “Memphis.”
All shows will be at the Civic Theatre located at 1100 Third Ave.
