Temecula mom loses kids, goes to jail after police find drugs

A Temecula woman was behind bars today and her two children turned over to Child Protective Services when authorities found drugs and stolen items during a probation search of her hotel room, according to a Murrieta police spokesman.

Francine Jean Kolikias, 45, was arrested at about 12:20 p.m. Friday at the Comfort Inn & Suites Hotel, 41005 California Oaks Road, in Murrieta, said police Sgt. Don Weller.

Kolikias was on probation for theft-related charges with a condition that searches could be performed at any time, Weller said.

Kolikias was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, commercial burglary and violation of probation, the sergeant said

She was held in lieu of $5,000 bail, with a court appearance scheduled Tuesday at the Southwest Justice Center in French Valley, jail records showed.
