Update: According to a report on the Riverside County Sheriff’s department website, a skydiver that crashed to the ground at a skydiving facility in Perris has died of his injuries.
San Diego resident Sean Cary, 35, died at 9:52 a.m. according to Riverside County coroner’s report.
Original: A skydiver crashed to the ground today at the Perris Valley Skydiving facility and was hospitalized in critical condition, according to a county fire department spokeswoman.

The 35-year-old man was reported down at 9:10 a.m. today, and the first arriving engine company reported him breathing, but unresponsive, said Melody Hendrickson of the fire department.
The man was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, she said. His name was not released.
In December, an experienced 32-year-old Canadian skydiver died from a hard landing at Perris Valley, one of five skydiving fatalities there in 2011.
