Palm Springs tramway open this Presidents Day weekend

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will run through Presidents Day weekend for those who want to get a look at the Coachella Valley from an elevation of more than 8,500 feet or dine above the lights of the valley floor.

The first tram goes up Mount San Jacinto to the upper station at 8 a.m., and the last one goes up about 8 p.m., spokeswoman Lena Zimmerschied said.

The upper station includes a cafe, a bar and an upscale restaurant called “Peaks.” The last tram goes down the mountain about 9:45 p.m.

Discounted “Twilight Tickets” are available after 4 p.m. “Ride and Dine” tickets are available after 4 p.m. and include tram fare and dinner at Pines Cafe, Zimmerschied said. More information is available by calling 760-325-1391 or by going online at pstramway.com.
