According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Ferguson, an adult male was riding in the far right lane northbound on Murrieta Road when he was cut off and struck by a two-door white Ford Ranger, which was attempting to turn into the Sun City Plaza shopping center.

The victim was thrown from the motorcycle, receiving minor to moderate injuries.

Witnesses at the scene reported the truck then fled the scene by circling around the rear of the shopping center.

Deputy Ferguson said she did not know if there was more than one person in the truck.

“When you’re thrown from (a motorcycle), there is the potential for major injuries,” said Rex Morris, paramedic engineer with Riverside County Fire Department.

The victim, described by authorities as a 31-year-old Menifee resident, was transported to a trauma center at a local hospital.

The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.
