Palm Springs crash sends driver to hospital

A driver who crashed into an electrical control box and overturned in Palm Springs was taken to a hospital today.

The crash at Gene Autry Trail and Tachevah Drive was reported about 2:10 a.m.

“Officers arrived and located the red Pontiac Vibe on its roof and occupied by a sole male driver,” said Palm Springs police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff.

The driver was taken to a hospital, but his name and condition were unavailable.

Gene Autry Trail was closed Tuesday afternoon south of Interstate 10 and north of Via Escuela Drive due to high winds and re-opened about 8 a.m. today.
