It looks like rain for Southwest Riverside this weekend, but that shouldn’t stop you from having a little fun.
Here’s what’s happening around town:
500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore
It’s time to welcome back the boys of summer when the Lake Elsinore Storm hosts its annual Sip n’ Swing event. Children can snap photos with Storm mascot Thunder the Dog and bounce around in the free Kids Fun Zone. The all-ages festival features free batting practice and behind-the-scene stadium tours, as well as food and drink specials, music, prizes and giveaways. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on March 17.

Get ready for a knee-slapping, hand-clapping good time, when Temecula’s annual Bluegrass Festival rolls into town. Free concerts will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 17-18. For tickets to shows at Old Town Temecula Community Theater, visit www.temeculatheater.org.

Brides throughout Southwest Riverside won’t want to miss this chance to meet with some of the best vendors, bakers and music-makers in the industry. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18. Cost is $10.
Free events at Pala Casino Spa & Resort

Pala Casino Spa & Resort is hosting its free Events Series in February featuring live dance parties with Siren’s Crush and Pop Vinyl on Fridays and Tribute Concerts on Saturday nights in the Infinity Showroom.

Here’s your chance to learn all about time travel, kids! Science and all things “time” runs from 5:30 to 7:30 on March 16 at Temecula Children’s Museum.
4th Annual Temecula Special Games

The 4th Annual Temecula Special Games is set to shine a spotlight on student athletes from throughout Southwest Riverside. The event will take place 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mar. 17 at Chaparral High School Football Stadium.

Enjoy the eclectic sounds of musician and guitarist Ryan Dart at 6 p.m. on Mar. 16 and Swift Pony at 1 p.m. on Mar. 17 at Meritage Restaurant at Callaway Vineyard & Winery.

The Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission is hosting a farmer’s market with plans to run the event indefinitely from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and Sundays at Rancho Community Church. Bags full of fresh produce will cost as little as $5. Proceeds benefit local families in need.

Music is always happening at The Merc in Old Town Temecula. Friday’s feature good old fashioned rock ‘n roll and Saturday’s go country at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15. Then, it’s Classics at The Merc at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $11.
