Fairchild has been Assistant Principal at Murrieta Elementary School for nine years. He came to the district seventeen years ago and he has eight years of experience teaching math, science and P.E. at the middle school level.
Fairchild earned his Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies from Humboldt State University in 1988 and he holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from Chapman University.
A committee comprised of parents, faculty and staff were asked to provide a recommendation on the principal’s appointment and the members of the committee said, “He is all about kids and he values all stake-holder groups.” During his tenure in the district Fairchild has demonstrated that he is honest, fair and straight-forward.
“We are fortunate to have an administrator with Preston’s leadership skills and experience. His experience will serve him well as Principal of Antelope Hills Elementary,” said Superintendent Stan Scheer.
“I’m really looking forward to getting to know the staff, students and parents at Antelope Hills. While it will be very hard leaving Murrieta Elementary, I know that this new opportunity will be just as rewarding,” Fairchild said.
