Because of high winds, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway remained closed today, a spokeswoman for the attraction said.
“It was determined not to open today due to wind gusts measuring 50-60 miles per hour at the towers and at the Mountain Station,” said Lena Zimmerschied, public affairs manager for the tramway.
Zimmerschied said she wasn’t sure when the tramway would reopen.
On Jan. 21, wind gusts of between 80-90 mph prompted closure of the tramway, and stranded about 20 people at the top ranger station overnight.
