The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, June 1-3 at Lake Skinner, has released its official 2012 poster.

Created by Heather Pilapil, the watercolor poster features images of the event’s signature hot air balloons taking flight.
The poster — an interpretation of this year’s theme “Barrels of Fun” — was selected as the winner of the festival’s poster contest.
This is Pilapil’s second contest win. She previously designed the 2009 festival poster.
“When I first saw the theme, I thought of a wine cellar but I couldn’t do something fun in a cellar. So I took it from there, moving the barrels outside, making tables out of them and putting people at the tables laughing,” Pilapil said in a release.
Pilapil, a local artist, received her bachelor of fine arts from Laguna College of Art and Design. She is a 2002 graduate of Temecula Valley High School. Her art recently was featured at an expo at Villa di’Calabro Winery.
Souvenir posters will be available for $7; 75 signed, limited edition posters will be available for $25. Posters can be purchased later this month at 41755 Rider Way, Temecula, or online at tvbwf.com.
