The Riverside County coroner’s office today released the name of a 26-year-old motorcyclist who crashed into a concrete barrier on Interstate 215, then was struck by a vehicle.
Riverside resident Colin Roche was riding his Suzuki north on the 215 toward the Highway 60/91 interchange at a “high rate of speed” about 2 a.m. Wednesday when he lost control of the motorcycle, California Highway Patrol Officer Sylvia Vargas said.
“The rider was unable to properly negotiate the transition road and drove his motorcycle through the gore point in a northwesterly direction, where it collided into the concrete barrier,” Vargas said.
Roche flew off the motorcycle and landed in the No. 1 lane of southbound I-215, where he was struck by a vehicle. He died at the scene, Vargas said.
