A quick acting store owner in Old Town Temecula alerted police this afternoon to a young man who came in to sell a large amount of coins.

“The woman’s daughter called me this morning and gave me a list of the items that were stolen from her residence,” owner of All Valley Coin and Jewelry, Morris Minsberg explained.

He added that over the eight years he has owned the coin and jewelry shop, he has received numerous lists of stolen items.

“We are always suspicious when younger people come in with certain items,” Minsberg said. “I had  kind of a ‘spidey sense’ that something wasn’t right and referred to the list that was called in.”

His intuition was spot on and he immediately called police who came to the shop and detained the suspect.

“There were three guys in the group that appeared to be around 17, 18 or 19-years-old,” Minsberg explained.

The daughter of the victim said her mom is thrilled the robbers were apprehended so quickly.

“The shop owner was key,” Kathleen Daboush said. “He took the time to talk to me and make a list of what was stolen.”
